Thanksgiving week was…how shall I put this…maybe a little TOO fun. My in-laws were visiting as they do every Thanksgiving and while I knew that I was going to indulge here and there and then on Thanksgiving day, what I didn’t expect was that I was going to completely derail from my fitness goals.
Because here’s the thing…one night with a few drinks and pizza turned into a few more nights of drinks and take-out, etc., etc. Sweets once again became addicting, everything started to add up, and all the alcohol definitely slowed my metabolism.
The crazy thing is…I didn’t miss one workout ALL week. But they weren’t effective. As the saying goes, “you can’t out exercise a bad diet.” So true!! Plus, when I did “try” to exercise, I wasn’t giving it my all because I was just sluggish.
I was planning to go all in with the 21-Day Fix meal plan starting that Monday, but man, I just needed to break this cycle fast. So, I decided to do the one thing I’ve been too nervous to try first – the 3-Day Refresh. Because that is exactly what it’s for – to lose weight fast, but safe, and to break some bad habits (which were clearly starting to form again…ugh).And here are my results! Down 3 full inches on my waist. I did not weigh myself – although I know I lost weight. It wasn’t the reason behind doing this so I didn’t need to know!
Day 1 was rough…I was tired and hangry (ha!) by the end of the day. Day 2 was great! I slept like a rock both nights actually, but I definitely had the most energy on Day 2. I actually poured myself a cup of black coffee with stevia – which is refrained upon (allowed, but they suggest you drink green tea) – and didn’t even DRINK it!! All my energy was completely natural. I felt full and did great. Day 3 was good, I definitely started to feel a little tired again by the end of the day. I crashed hard that night and woke up feeling amazing the next morning!
I wanted to get rid of that horrible bloat and I’m thrilled with my results! The important thing is that I’ve cleansed/reset my body to where it needs to be and I got rid of the toxins and “ick”.
It was tough, but I didn’t feel hungry ALL the time. The hardest parts for me were the morning and the few hours after dinner. In the morning, you are only allowed Shakeology, green tea and the Fiber Sweep drink. I could not WAIT until lunch when I could eat FOOD! The few hours after dinner were hard and that was when I started to get irritable and feel like I could eat everything in the kitchen! The best thing to do is to chug water and go to bed!
And water…SO so important on the Refresh. Not only does it help keep the hunger away but it really gets that fiber working properly.
I know I didn’t have a ton of weight to lose, but I had to get rid of that awful bloat. I’m back to practically where I was pre-Thanksgiving week. I’m thrilled with my 3 inches lost – and I have other coaches on my team that did this the same time as me and one lost 5 pounds, the other 8!!The next few weeks are about fueling my body right with the 21-Day Fix portion control containers and prepping for our January Hammer and Chisel challenge group!!
