Clean Apple Crisp

This is one of many attempts to try a recipe like this. I’ve never had it turn out before – some weren’t sweet enough, others the topping was just awful. But this recipe for clean apple crisp…it is AWESOME! Simple to through together and a hit with the whole family.

The topping is amazing!! The entire dish is sweetened only with honey, cinnamon and pure maple syrup. We ate ours warm and topped with as small scoop of vanilla ice cream. Out of this world. Ok so the ice cream isn’t “clean” but it was a nice treat. I bet a dollop of vanilla Greek yogurt would be yummy too.

The apples are warm and soft and a great contrast to the crisp topping. I couldn’t stop eating it even before it was baked.
